Coaches: How to Hit Fungo - Anyone who has ever had to hit balls for fielding practice knows that it isn't always the easiest thing to do - especially the longer the practice goes. Dan Blewett provides excellent tips for how to hit fly balls, towering pop-ups and grounders including what kind of bat you should be using.


Does Tommy John Surgery Help You Throw Harder? - I think we've all heard it ... people who say that they are throwing harder after getting Tommy John surgery. Unfortunately, some young people hear this and think it would be a good idea to have the surgery - even if they don't need it. Juan Rivera, who had the surgery, sets the record straight, pointing out that you definitely DO NOT want to have the surgery if you do not need it and the real reason that many pitchers throw harder after the surgery.
