Baseball & Softball Tips of the Week - 3/3/2019

Posted by on 3/3/2019 to Tips of the Week

The best from this past week includes one video for pitchers, three pieces about hitting, two motivational pieces and a behavioral message to parents. Check them out ...

Practice Pitching Anywhere - Coach Zack from Ultimate Baseball Training shows you several pitching drills that you can do anywhere - without a field, without another person, without a ball. Check out the video, below:

Recovering from Injuries - In his article, 5 Things You NEED TO KNOW for Overcoming Pitching Injuries, Brad Kirsch from Slider Domination discusses the 5 things that you need to keep in mind when recovering from an injury. Definitely solid advice!

Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable - Justin Stone from Elite Baseball takes a break from his Spring Training duties for the Cubs and talks about helping Garth Brooks improve his baseball swing (yeah, THAT Garth Brooks). Garth was not in his comfort zone and Justin says that's OK. In fact, he believes you should constantly put young players in uncomfortable roles and positions so that they grow as players. Here's the video:

Timing is Everything! - The most common reason that players who have great swings off a batting tee struggle against live pitching is timing. They plant their foot too early which throws off the timing of their hip turn and everything else. In his article, Fixing Timing Problems In Live Hitting, Life in the Fastpitch Lane's Ken Krause shows coaches how to help players fix the timing problem.

Be a Parent! - The Baseball Factory's Dan Mooney has a message for parents. Let the coaches coach and just be a parent in the stands during games. You kids will appreciate it and so will their coaches. Check it out:

How to Become a Home Run Machine - Coach Justin from Ultimate Baseball Training shows you some simple swing tweaks that will lead to much harder hit balls and home runs - most that you probably haven't heard of before. Check out the video, below:

May the Force Be With You - In this Youth Baseball Edge podcast, Rob Tong talks to Justin Stone who discusses hitting using "Ground Forces."
